Expertise/ Research Interests:
- Expertise is in clinical microbiology and virology, and laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases. This includes 'wet' laboratory work-ups and tissue section diagnosis.

- Research interests include technique optimization prior to implementation in the clinical laboratory, and technology transfer to the diagnostic arena.Molecular diagnosis using DNA probes and amplification techniques is emphasized, in particular the newer Real-time PCR applications
