Research Open Pools

The University of South Florida is seeking to maintain a pool of qualified applicants for the research-oriented Staff classes listed below for which USF Health will accept applications on an open/continuous basis. Applications will be considered active for vacancies in these classes for three months, after which applicants must reapply. When a specific position vacancy occurs, eligible applicants on file will be considered. Preferred experience will vary depending on the specific position vacancy.

 

  • Research Technician this position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of laboratory or research experience.  College coursework in a natural or physical science may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis. (Not a medical laboratory technician)

 

  • Biological Scientists this position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a natural, physical or medical science.  Progressively responsible experience involving scientific laboratory or field work may be substituted for the required college education on a year for year basis.

 

  • Senior Biological Scientists this position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a natural or medical science and 2 years of research experience; or a Master’s degree in a natural science.  Progressively responsible experience involving scientific laboratory or field work may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.

 

  • Chemists require a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and one year of research lab experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

 

  • Senior Chemists this position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a natural science and three years of research experience; or a Master’s degree in a natural science.  Progressively responsible experience involving scientific laboratory or field work may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
