Policy Statement

 

In conjunction with the Institutional and Program Requirements of the ACGME, the USF College of Medicine will ensure that each residency program complies with the documentation requirements of the Office of Graduate Medical Education.

 

This documentation will be reviewed from time to time or as warranted by changes to a USF College of Medicine policy.

 

 

Procedure

Office of GME                                                    Submits to programs any changes to the Institutional and Program Requirements of the ACGME, as well as policy requirements of the USF College of Medicine.

 

This documentation will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

-          Scope of Practice

-          Core Curriculum (to include a review of ethics, socioeconomic, medical-legal, communication skills, managed care, research design and statistics, cost containment issues, and a critical review of the literature)

-          Guidelines for the Selection, Evaluation, Promotion and Dismissal of Residents

-          Statement on the work hours, work environment, supervision, and grievance process for residents

-          Objectives, Mission Statement, and method for the measurement of objectives for each program

Program Director Provides Office of GME with documentation as requested, maintaining a copy of such documentation within each department.
