Policy Statement

 

The USF College of Medicine will ensure that each residency program has defined activities for the residents in each post-graduate year of training.

 

This “scope of practice” will define the range of activities that residents are allowed to perform without direct supervision during each year of the training program.  Residents are authorized to perform any activity assigned while under direct supervision.  The scope of practice for each specialty and sub-specialty may be modified by the Program Director based on additions to the training program.

Program Director Provides the resident and the Office of GME with a document describing the approved activities of the residents for each year of training.

 

Provides the GMEC with assurance that adequate supervision will be provided for both direct and indirect oversight.
