Welcome Message
USF Health's International Programs Office is expanding the global reach of educational, research, development and entrepreneurial initiatives. We are engaging partners to help us develop opportunities for students and faculty to apply knowledge to real-world, mutual health challenges - emerging infectious diseases, environmental degradation, natural and man-made disasters, changing patterns of chronic disease, and health disparities. Sustainable projects require an interdisciplinary approach. By encouraging collaboration across the USF campus and combining the multidisciplinary philosophies of public health, medicine, physical therapy and nursing we can empower communities to deal with the root causes of existing problems.
Please look through our website and 2006 annual report to see some of these collaborative initiatives over the past year.
We welcome any ideas you may have about strengthening the international dimension of USF Health. We are building the prototype for integrating health in Tampa, Florida. And we want to improve health around the world. Health is, after all, a human right, a prerequisite and resource for human development and growth, something everyone wants and can agree upon, and a peacemaker in the world today.
