Student Electives
Student Electives are available in Clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology for those students attending LCME/AOA accredited institutions. Work alongside our faculty and residents at different facilities and gain insight and training in the complex field of dermatology. Whether your interest is to learn more about the specialty itself or to see if USF is the place for you, the faculty and staff are available to answer your questions, provide insight into the field of dermatology, and show you the benefits of choosing our institution as your place of residency.
Visit the Student Elective web site at http://hsc.usf.edu/medicine/registrar/new/visiting_students.htm. Here you will find the Visiting Student Application and the Visiting Student Immunization Certificate and links to the policies for visiting students. A brief description of the clinical dermatology course (MEL 7321) and the dermatopathology course (MEL 7324) can be found under the Electives Manual link. To apply, print out the two forms and mail the completed forms to the Registrar's Office at the address printed at the top of the application. Visiting students may apply for any combination of dates, not just the ones listed on the USF calendar. Blocks 3 & 4 (Aug & Sept) are primarily reserved for those interested in dermatology as a career. Space cannot be reserved, so get your application in early.
