    The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at USF provides the most advanced care available for patients with seizures and seizure disorders, with a special focus on the diagnosis and treatment of complex and difficult cases using the latest technology. The Center performs more epilepsy surgeries annually than any other center in Florida, and is one of only four centers in the state qualifying for the highest designation of epilepsy care from the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

    The USF Stroke and Vascular Neurology team provide round the clock, expert state-of-the-art care for any vascular disorder of the nervous system, from routine stroke to the rarest and most challenging of vascular diseases. The USF Stroke Center at Tampa General Hospital is one of the few certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers in the state, and the only academic vascular neurology program in the Tampa Bay region.

Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Neurology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine

Neurology is in the midst of a therapeutic revolution in which some of the most frightening diseases are at last becoming treatable through scientific and clinical advances. USF Neurology has entered the forefront of this exciting era by strategically aligning a wealth of resources in the basic and clinical neurosciences throughout the University, in partnership with the novel USF Neuroscience Collaborative. Our Centers of Excellence include:

USF Neurology also offers optimal training and education to our medical students, residents, fellows, practicing physicians and the community. Our residency program is large and robust, with excellent clinical training and patient resources across the full spectrum of Neurology, as well as a rich and detailed didactic curriculum over the three years of training, including a guaranteed first year of general internship for entering residents. We offer all of this in the beautiful urban center and coastal resort community of Tampa, Florida.

We look forward to a brighter future for our patients with your help as we work together to conquer, one by one, the most terrible of neurological diseases.
