USF Health • College of Medicine

The Department of Neurological Surgery & Brain Repair supports medical education for all levels of training. Lectures by faculty are an integral portion of the curriculum of the medical school. Senior electives are available throughout the year for fourth year medical students. Continuing onwards in training the department sponsors an ACGME accredited neurosurgical residency as well as three clinical fellowships; complex spine, skull base/vascular, and surgical neuro-oncology. The department also hosts the annual Masters in Skull Base Symposium in which neurosurgery and otolaryngology residents from around the country learn and practice advanced skull base approaches on cadaveric specimens under the guidance of faculty gathered from institutions across the country. The department also assists in industry sponsored training events for practicing surgeons throughout the year.
